Commission Your Portrait

I was commissioned to draw a portrait at a friends wedding back in 2011 and haven't looked back since. I have illustrated hundreds of people from many walks of life.  I have seen families grow and built friendships with the most incredible clients.  I am always so touched by the amount of thought and love that each client puts into the collaboration and I try to capture this in my drawings. A truly thoughtful gift for family and friends.  I feel honoured to draw the special characteristics and idiosyncrasies that makes every single family so unique. 

I have recently moved from working in digital illustration and now draw and colour all portraits free hand with Quink Ink and watercolour pens on A3 cartridge paper.  Working with a simplistic limited colour palette which I have refined and perfected this past year.  Please reference the portraits below.  I find I work far more from my heart hand to paper.  My style has become loose and free. 

My price is £160 this includes 4 people and a pet. Then you have the option to add on £20 per person and £10 per pet, any newborn ( up to 3 months) is free.

• You will receive an email from me requesting photographs, location, and any sentimental ideas or objects that you feel is important for the piece and we can collaborate together to illustrate it.  I will loosely sketch it up in pencil for you to see before I ink and colour it.

What Happens Next?

You’ll receive an email with questions and Image request I need to start.

Current turnaround time is 8 weeks.

You will be send a digital proof to approve before anything is printed.

Each illustration is hand drawn and then digitally scanned and printed on cartridge paper.

FAQS

Q1. What sort of photo's should I send?

Please send 1-2 clear photographs of each family member and pet taken in daylight. Louise will need pictures of sentimental items, objects and clothing you may like to include.

Q2. What other details will you require?

Louise will ask for a short description of each family member and any added quirks or details you would like to add alongside the date you will need it by.

Q3. What happens next?

Once Louise has received your e-mail with the attached pictures and descriptions, she will draw up a pencil sketch for you. You will be updated throughout the process working collectively on the idea and vision of the piece. When you are happy with the sketch Louise will illustrate the piece alongside filming short little videos of the process as its rather nice to see. Louise will email a photograph of the portrait before it is posted out to you.

Q4. How long will my order take?

Each order takes on average 2-8 weeks to turn around, but this can take longer during busy periods. Louise will try her best to accommodate any requests for a quick turnaround. Please e-mail first and she will see what she can do.

Q5. Can I have copies?

Each portrait is original but Louise does offer the opportunity to purchase some copies in print format to give to other family members.

Q6. What if I don't like your artwork?

Louise will draw up a sketch of your family portrait and ask for this to be agreed by you before she inks and colours it . Once given the go-ahead Louise can try to amend, add and tweak to the best of her abilities but unfortunately it will not be refundable once the colouring process begins.There are limitations on original artworks so it is super important to get the sketch right.
